Will this bag harm my pet or child?
The simple answer is NO. Not only is the bag made with all natural oils, data supplied by a private safety laboratory indicates that the bag is 100% safe.
Which animals does this bag repel?
Currently the only laboratory data available at this time is for rats. The bag has proven to reduce the number of rat penetrations by 100% after 7 days. However, members of the Mint-X® team have had the same success when they personally tested the bags with raccoons, squirrels, mice and deer.
How long does it take for the bag to work?
We tell our customers that it takes about 3-5 days to see a dramatic difference in the number of torn bags. The most important thing is that when the garbage is put out you can only use Mint-X® Trash Bags. If the bag is commingled with another, non-scented bag, the Mint-X® Trash Bag will be less effective.
Do I use this bag instead of my standard outdoor trash bin?
Yes, it is not necessary to place the Mint-X® Trash Bag in a garbage bin. The Mint-X® Trash Bag was tested and designed to be left outside without the accompaniment of a trash bin.
How long can I leave my trash outside before the scent wears off?
The trash bag can be left outside for 5 days without losing its potency. After the 5th day, the bag will not have the same effectiveness.
How long will the mint scent last if in the box?
If the box is closed, they bags inside will last for up to 3 years. The interlocked bags allow the scent to remain contained.
Will this bag solely solve my rodent problem?
While we would like to think so, the reality is that there are a number of steps that need to be taken to ensure a rodent proof household. Please view our “Information on Safe Rodent Control” section for additional information.
Will the mint scent rub off on my hands?
No. Since the mint is added to the bag in the early phases of the production process, the scent essentially becomes part of the bag. The mint is added to the bag the same way that color is added to a bag.
